A whip graft is discussed for use on stocks that
are 2-4 cm (
-1
inches) in diameter. The stocks
are too large to chip-bud and whip-graft completely.
This offers an alternative to split grafting, with a
greater cambium-to-cambium contact of the cut
surfaces.
